One of the best things about Summer is being outside, getting together with family and friends, and catching up over delicious food and drinks.  There’s something about the sounds of clinking glasses and shared laughter that is truly magical.  Here at Anna’s, family is central and we consider our friends to be an extension of our family.  We also have a strong appreciation for a good meal and a refreshing beverage!  That being said, we’ve gathered a few of our favourites to help bring your cocktail (or mocktail) game to the next level.  So next time you are serving-up refreshing beverages to those near and dear, feel free to give these a try…

Wildly Delicious Caesar Rimmer

Some say that a caesar is only as good as it’s rimmer.  Either way, a nicely spiced rim is an integral part of any caesar.  Our friends at Wildly Delicious made it foolproof, all you have to do is to apply.  This is best done with a lime wedge; run it along the top of your glass to wet the edge. Flip your glass, then twist!

Sable & Rosenfeld Tipsy Olives

If a martini is more your style than look no further.  These little guys are firm and crunchy, as well as, kosher, gluten free and non-GMO certified.  The best part, they taste lovely on their own as well and make a great addition to any charcuterie board.

Fresh Herbs

Herbs are delicious and they have a handful of amazing health benefits, not to mention they make for a beautiful garnish!  Start muddling some mint for a yummy mojito, add a sprig of rosemary for a dash of elegance or some lemon balm for a zesty kick.  Adding herbs to your cocktails will have your guests convinced that you’re a master of mixology (even if you’re not)!

Fresh, Local Fruits & Veggies

Blend up something a little ‘tropical’ using fresh, seasonal fruits such as strawberries, blueberries or raspberries!  You could even throw some peaches in there for some added sweetness!  Or if you prefer, juice some cucumber for something light and refreshing!  Add your favourite liquor or a paper umbrella if you wish!

Bentley’s BBQ Bloody Mary Mix

If you crave bold flavour than this gourmet mix may be exactly what you need!  As proud Canadians, we would never replace our beloved caesar but when it comes to this mix there is room for both!  It is a delicious blend of zest and tanginess; it can be enjoyed solo or paired with your favourite vodka or tequila!

Wine-A-Rita

These fun little mama’s have been a Summer staple in the store for years now.  They come in a handful of delicious flavours such as CosmoRita, Señorita, Strawberry Mango, Blueberry Pomegranate and Wine Glacé. Mix your favourite with either red or white wine, blend with ice and enjoy.  Wine-A-Rita can also easily be enjoyed with ginger ale as a non-alcoholic option if preferred!

We figure if you can’t beat the heat this Summer, then you might as well enjoy it (and a refreshing cocktail while you’re at it!)  Cheers!

How are you celebrating happy hour this Summer?  Comment below, we’d love to hear!
